Kitting at the Time of Order

The purpose of this page is to help you prototype a kitting solution where the a user enters a kitted product item number and iDempiere expands the kit into its components on separate sales order lines. Here are the preparation steps:
  1. Create a new Product representing your kit.
  2. Set the Product => Bill of Materials field to Yes or Checked
  3. Set the Product => Stocked field to No or Not Checked
  4. Add BOM lines to your kitted Product
  5. Click the 'Verify BOM' button on your product.
Here is the usage scenario:
  1. Create a new Sales Order
  2. Add your kitted product to a Sales Order => Line
  3. Prepare your order
  4. Notice that you will now have more Sales Order => Lines
    1. Price is set according to the price list (BTW - make sure these products are on your price list)
  5. Specifically
    1. Your original line will have its product and price removed. The description will be updated accordingly. Said another way, your original line will become a comment line.
    2. The remaining lines will be copied from your kitted product's BOM lines.
